The Play

The play deals symbolically with the socio-cultural and political issues and concerns that can be experienced by any region where non-democratic practices thrive, law and order deteriorates, the high-handedness of military and security forces prevail, and the common man’s life loses all value. Divided into four stages for the convenience of the audience, performatively and thematically, it highlights the problem areas prevalent and witnessed in today's world. It exposes the anti-people and unjust attitudes of those at the helm of affairs. Actors in this play are ordinary people who raise their voices against unjust, undemocratic, and unlawful practices and who are swiftly and brutally punished. It bears special relevance as it comes in the time of insurgencies and oppressions around the world, and aims to present a micro-representation of the chaotic life led by billions of people caught up in the web of multiple power structures.
