The Play
Samjhouta means compromise. It is the compromise of values, ideals, and the goodness of life that are sometimes readily undergone by man in his perennial quest to acquire worldly achievement and success. In this blind race of globalization, Samjhouta is an attempt to reveal the harsh realities of the world. It takes us through the hard life of the protagonist, who after finishing his education starts his search for a job in the old traditional way. His journey takes him through several stages of sadness and disillusionment - from the pain of running from one office to the other, feeling helpless, bearing the limitations and compulsions of circumstances and experiencing the unreliability and dishonesty of people he once trusted. As he lives his life a parallel is drawn with a circus, where the pain and sorrows of the clown are portrayed as a source of amusement and entertainment for those who watch him from a distance.
