The Play

The play revolves around four characters – a mother, her daughter, and two granddaughters - and is based on the conversations between them. The eldest granddaughter Riddhi is focused and engrossed with her experiments on the effects of gamma rays on sunflowers. Rimona, the second granddaughter, is a very restless person, whose mind is always active. The grandmother is handicapped and her hands and face are the only parts of her body that function properly and over which she has control. Her hands, in particular, are her sole medium for comprehending joy and sorrow in life. The mother's intriguing journey through the varied contradictory layers of emotion like loss, despair, limitations and aspirations, along with Riddhi's molecular experiments evolve a significant dimension of metaphorical reality. The play is an attempt to establish communication between the fascinating reactions and equations that exist between life and science.
